KOTILINGESHWARA TEMPLE, Kolar, KarnatakaThis Sunday (3 Feb 2013), we woke up early (early for a Sunday) and took bath and left house at 07:10 in Ashok's car. We (Neeraja, Ashok, Vijaya and I) left for the KOTI LINGESHWARAR Koil near KGF, 110 km from Ashok's house.
We drove thru Silk Board, Marathahalli, Whitefield. This is not the shortest route but we went to see Ashok's office SAP and Arun's hotel at Whitefield ! We drove thru Old Madras road, a 6-lane highway to Chennai.
We crossed Hoskete and then halted at Narsapur at 08:45 to have breakfast at KAMAT UPACHAR, a crowded but a good hotel. We resumed our travel, went on to KOLAR town, and then Bangarapet. Driving further, we reached KGF, the erstwhile Gold Fields, now no gold, nothing !
At a place called Kammasandra, a few km from KGF, the famous Koti Lingeshwara Temple is located in a 15-acre land. Founded in 1972, this koil has ONE CRORE Shiva-Lingas all over, row after row ! What a breath-taking sight !
Sri Manjunath Swamy is the presiding Deity. Sannadhis for Sri Mahavishnu, Sri Brahma, Sri Sita samedha Ramar, Lakshmana, Anjaneyar, Ganapati are also here. We worshipped.
World's largest Shiva Linga, over 33 metres in height is here. A large Nandi faces this Linga. During Mahashivrathri day, over 2 lakhs of devotees visit this place and pray.
We walked for nearly 75 minutes and were awe-struck by the beauty of seeing a crore Lingas.. We returned to Bangalore by 2-30PM and after lunch of Andhra meals at Nandhini (Koramangala) we were back home.
An unforgettable place.

I have a doubt and request you to check with your Vadhyar and let me know. (Hope I can ask this request)
If a father/mother has only daugther(s) and no son(s), and also if those daugther(s) are not married or no boy(s) as their child (i.e no Peran), who has to do the cremation rituals and subsequent karma activities?
Assuming that this father/mother has no brothers or other close relative males who are either not there or not willing to do, in such a situation, who will/has to do the cremation and subsequent Nithyavidhi or monthly/annual rituals?
