As usual, on 30th July, Thursday, evening 5 PM we two started on a long walk. On our way back, near the Atrium building, I FELL down on the road, flat on my chest. Like doing a namaskaaram.  I was conscious but I could not get up. Cars were stopped and many came to help. Two, three of them lifted me and took me to their car. Vijaya also came in the same car. They dropped me at the house. Good Samaritans, God bless them. Krithika took me to the nearby Swaram hosp for an anti-tetanus injection. Two days later I was back to normal. Rajappa 30-07-2015

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen "A. P. J." Abdul Kalam  (15 October 1931 – 27 July 2015) was the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. Kalam was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, and studied physics and aerospace engineering. He spent the next four decades as a scientist and science administrator, mainly at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Kalam was elected President of India in 2002. After serving a term of five years, he returned to his civilian life of education, writing and public service. On 27 July 2015, Kalam travelled to Shillong to deliver a lecture on "Creating a Livable Planet Earth" at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong. At around 6:35 p.m. IST, only five minutes into his lecture, he collapsed.
